Generations of Faith
The community of St. Joseph Church has made a firm commitment to use its resources to nurture the faith development of all its members. At our parish our intergenerational gatherings are called Generations of Faith. It is now the way we do faith formation at St. Joseph Church.
In addition to these gatherings, lifelong faith formation occurs when the community participates in worship, prayer, evangelization and justice & service activities.

~ a way for high school youth and their families to live out their baptismal
call with the opportunity to prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation ~
Welcome to high school youth ministry! The years during high school are a beautiful time of spiritual growth for our young parishioners as well as a time for questioning their faith. Properly nurtured, growth can be a result of this questioning.
The goals of youth ministry at St. Joseph Church are to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person, to draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the church, and to empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.
Youth ministry provides opportunities for prayer and worship, retreats, ongoing faith formation, peer ministry, social activities and service to others. At St. Joseph Parish teens are encouraged to participate fully in youth ministry and parish life. They are invited to become Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Lectors, Music Ministers, Catechist Assistants and Ministers of Hospitality. They are encouraged to visit the elderly, feed the hungry and help the poor. It is through these actions that one can truly live as a disciple of Christ.
Here at St. Joseph, the emphasis is placed on total youth ministry. Confirmation preparation is only part of youth ministry. Participating in youth ministry in the early high school years is a way to understand what the life of a confirmed person entails. After your teen has been an active participant in youth ministry, around the middle of sophomore year, immediate preparation for the sacrament of confirmation is offered as a choice to all who come forward.
The personal and spiritual growth of an individual does not end after the Sacrament of Confirmation has been received. It is LIFE LONG !
“We don’t receive a sacrament and then walk away; We receive a sacrament so that we can walk in a different way.”

The program will be held in the Nazareth Room located in the convent following the 9:00am Mass on Sundays. Candidates who are interested may contact Deacon Milt @ 973 303-2075.
