 General Information

Nestled in the hills of West Milford, not far off Route 23 North, but seemingly in a different world, lies Saint Joseph Church and Cemetery.  Adjacent to this historic landmark church  is our  Saint John the Baptist section of the cemetery. A ride up to the top of the hill on this sacred tract of land provides one with a view of mountains, manicured lawns and wooded landscape.  You come away with a feeling of peace and serenity.

The cemetery, like the Church, is a sacred place, dedicated to the spiritual interests of God’s people.  With the psalmist of old who sang of the Church – “O God, I have loved the beauty of Thy House;” we too, may sing of the cemetery in which our beloved dead lie at peace –“ O God, I have loved the beauty of thy consecrated land and shall try to preserve it.”

Today cemetery land is a valuable asset. With the parish increasing in the number of families each year we must utilize all land well and also plan for future needs.
